Pinellas County proposes $4 billion budget for 2025

Pinellas County leaders plan to spend more than $4 billion in the upcoming fiscal years. They’re laying out plans for the tax dollars in the newly released proposed budget.

A property tax decrease is included in the $4.3 billion plan. According to the documents $3.3 billion will be allocated to county operations and $1 billion will go towards capital improvements.

The proposal includes continued support for law enforcement, medical services and first responders. It also emphasizes transportation infrastructure and affordable housing. Other highlights of the plan include:

 

  • $13.5 million to subsidize 911 services
  • Affordable housing funding commitments from 2020 to 2025 total $49.5 million
  • $42.2 million from the General Fund to the Transportation Trust Fund to aid in continued maintenance of roads and bridges
  • Full funding of the beach nourishment program
