If Tropical Storm Debby left storm-related debris on your property, please follow these steps to prepare storm-related debris for collection:
• Debris must be set out on the public right-of-way to be collected, but do not place storm debris in roadway.
• Separate your debris (storm-related vegetative/construction/regular garbage & recycling). This is extremely important for efficient collection!
• Keep all household garbage, recycling, and yard waste in the City-issued cans and prepared as per City Code for your normal garbage/recycling days.
• Containerize loose vegetative debris (leaves, grass clippings, pine needles or shrubbery cuttings) prepared as per City Code and include with your regular garbage collection day.
• Cut up trees and limbs into 4’ lengths and stack neatly in the public right-of-way. Do not obstruct sidewalks and roadways.
• Neatly stack construction debris (fencing). Do not obstruct sidewalks and roadways.
• Never place any debris beside utility poles or transformers, under power lines, on top of water meters, on storm drains, by fire hydrants, near vehicles, next to mailboxes or fences. Hidden electrical hazards can injure or kill collection personnel.
• Collection of storm debris will occur beginning on Monday, August 12, 2024. Staff cannot provide an exact date for individual address pick-up.
Contractors hired by a homeowner for tree trimming, fence repair/replacement, or other construction are responsible for hauling away all yard waste, fencing and construction materials as per City Code.
