Deputies, in conjunction with several partner agencies, are joining this weekend to conduct a DUI Wolf Pack operation in Pinellas County.
The DUI Wolf Pack operation will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, and will continue until 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
The operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s ongoing commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving.
The Wolf Pack aims to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will also conduct a Saturation Patrol throughout the county for the holiday weekend. The Saturation Patrol will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, through Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Deputies will maintain a proactive profile over the weekend on the highly traveled roadways of Pinellas County.
The DUI Wolf Pack is dedicated to the memory of Pete Sznerch and Alicia Sznerch.
On December 16, 2000, the Sznerch family (Pete, Cathleen, Alicia, and Nicholas) were driving from North Carolina to Orlando to attend a memorial service for a relative.
While driving through Orlando, their vehicle was struck by a drunk driver. Per a witness at the scene, the Sznerch family’s vehicle flipped approximately 12-16 times.
