The City of Safety Harbor has installed a plaque underneath a bench to honor Whistle Stop Grill & Bar owner Louis Kinney, who died on Dec. 24.
The plaque, which reads "In Memory Of Whistle Stop's Louis Kinney You Made A Safety Harbor Icon Your Own" was installed on Wednesday on what would have been Kinney's 43rd birthday beneath a bench on 9th Avenue North, directly across the street from Whistle Stop.
The city also intends to install a brick in memory of Kinney at the John Wilson Park Gazebo.
