The owner of Drip Tide Wellness is a step closer to being able to move his business from Main Street to the historic Tucker Mansion, which he recently bought.
After a lengthy discussion at its Monday night meeting, the Safety Harbor City Commission voted unanimously on first of two readings to change the city's Land Development Code to allow "Personal/Business Service Establishment," with some restrictions, to uses thay may be allowed in the city's Local Historic Landmark (LHC) zoning area, where the Tucker Mansion is located.
Vice Mayor Andy Steingold and Commissioner Cliff Merz each cautioned Commission that proposed changes, which would allow Drip Tide to operate there, may allow for unintended uses in the future before Commission voted 5-0 to approve revised language. Commission is expected to hold its second and final vote on the change at its Aug. 21 meeting.
