City Commission honors Finance Director on her retirement

🎉 At last night’s City Commission meeting, the Mayor and Commission recognized Finance Director June Solanes on her retirement from the City after 15 years of service.
When June started with the City of Safety Harbor in 2008, her focus was to transform the Finance Department into a thriving team, and she has certainly accomplished that vision. During her tenure, she and her team have earned multiple awards that have been maintained for multiple years. These awards include the prestigious Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for years 2010-2017 and 2019-2021, in addition to the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award in 2011, and each year since 2016. What an accomplishment!
June is a proud and dedicated mother to her two sons and a doting grandmother to her two beautiful granddaughters.  As June moves on to the next chapter in her life, we wish her the very best retirement full of health, happiness, and all the wonderful joys her heart desires.
