City repurposes tractor as public art

As you drive on the way to the dog park or as you’re stopping by the front office to sign a dumpster waiver, you’ll notice the newest addition at Public Works. This is a 1983 Ford 540A Broom Tractor. The tractor has been in service at Public Works for over 30 years cleaning the streets of the City. The last major use was during TS Eta clean-up in November 2020.
When the tractor became unusable due parts being unavailable for repairs, Public Works staff found a new and permanent use as public art. The tractor will remain at Public Works as a symbol of our dedicated Public Works staff; past, present, and future and their steadfast service to the City.
