In Safety Harbor, a horse farm became a community garden. See it bloom.

Recent rain and mild temperatures made for ideal conditions for honey bees, butterflies and lizards at the Common Ground Community Garden at Folly Farm in Safety Harbor on Wednesday.

Tenants like Pam Rivera stopped by throughout the day to water their plots. Rivera’s is brimming with celery, romaine lettuce, Brussels sprouts and herbs.

“This is an educational experience,” Rivera said as she tended her plants. “This has a great attraction for families, and there’s a great sense of community.”
